WARM COATS FOR BALDWIN

The Disciple 4 class is collecting winter coats for Baldwin Center.  Please look for end of season bargains and purchase new coats for all ages, infant through adult.  New coats can be brought to the church and left in the box in the Narthex.  We will be collecting through March 15.  Cash donations are also accepted.  Make checks out to St. Paul’s UMC with “Coats for Baldwin” in the memo line.

We will be studying midrash. Midrash is the discovery of meanings other than literal ones in the Hebrew Bible. It is derived from the root darah (to inquire).

Bring your Bibles and get ready to investigate and really delve into scripture. Learn amazing stories from the Hebrew Bible that will “change for the better the way we all look at Scripture. Not as magic bus as spiritual meaning for our times. Not as mystery but as new and real presence in our own lives.” Sister Joan Chittister.

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
Thursday evenings, February 2 – March 15

The winter session of the Cancer Support Group is now forming. 

Each of the weekly meetings includes a speaker followed by an all-important sharing time.  After the speaker, there will be separate discussion groups for those who have cancer and those who are supporters.

SUB SALES ARE BACK
Pick up: Sunday, February 5 after each worship service

The high school youth will be selling sub sandwiches for the Super Bowl.  Don’t miss out on these great, fresh, handmade sub combos! 

Each sub combo costs $7 and comes with a sub, chips and a cookie.  Pick up subs in Hickey Hall.  There will be extras, so stop by even if you didn't pre-order.

CLUB 45 RETREAT
Registration Due by February 6

Club 45 Retreat: If you are a 4th or 5th grader, please join us for one night of Winter Camping at Echo Grove Camp in Leonard, Michigan.

We will leave St. Paul’s UMC on February 10th after school and return on Saturday, February 11th.

The cost is $50.00 per camper. Invite your friends to pack a sleeping bag and join us.  

We will need adult chaperones to accompany us, so ask the adults in your life to come along. Please call the church office at 248-651-9361 by February 6th to reserve your spot

Prayerful Yoga & Christian Meditation
Tuesdays; 6:00 - 7:15 p.m.; February 7 - March 27 - Sanctuary

This calm, meditative yoga will support your ability to breathe, stretch and center your attention on God’s presence in your life.

Scripture, prayer, and song will be incorporated into each class led by Certified Yoga Instructor, Susan Amick.

Mats will be available for those who do not have one to bring to class. Class fee is payable at first session.

Valentine Dinner
Saturday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m.; Hickey Hall

The United Methodist Men are brushing up on their Italian to create an Evening in Tuscany for this year’s Valentine Dinner.

The St. Paul's Men's Quartet will perform, and Susan Clark Joul and her accompanist will provide the main entertainment for the evening.

Advance ticket sales will be available in the Narthex on Sunday, February 5.
