SUMMER 2007 - VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL |
Overview |
| Children and youth are very important to us at St. Paul's. We have educational ministries that are age-level appropriate for infants through high school. Our goal is to demonstrate to children and youth the love of Christ and help them realize they are an important part of the faith community. |
Safety is our most important concern. All teachers,
counselors, childcare coordinators, and babysitters have background chicks to
ensure children's safety. We strive for two adults in all
classrooms and nurseries. On Sunday mornings, childcare is provided by
staff and lay ministry caregivers. Teenage assistants, age 11 and up, also
help in the Toddler Nursery. Every Sunday, we strive to have at least one staff member or teacher who id CPR- and First Aid-trained. Beeper units are given to parents with children in our Sunday nurseries and special needs classroom. In addition, age-appropriate toys are cleaned and sanitized each week. |
A Word about Reservations for Groups |
| Reservations are not required for Sunday mornings. New children are registered their first Sunday. When childcare is provided for other events in the Church, a reservation must be made by 3:00 p.m. two business days prior to the event by calling the Childcare Hotline (248-651-9361 ext. 114). For groups interested in having childcare for an event, please call the Ch9ildcare Hotline to see if childcare providers are available at least two weeks prior to the event. |
Expansion of Childcare Ministry |
| We are constantly in the process of expanding our Childcare Ministry. The mission of the Childcare Ministry at St. Paul's is to provide quality childcare in a safe, nurturing Christian environment that allows parents to participate in Church programs. We are always looking for people who love children to help in this important ministry! For more information please contact the Childcare Hotline (248-651-9361). |

Sundays at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Worship |
Children 5-years-old through 5th grade attend worship with a parent and leave the Sanctuary during the second hymn to go to their classrooms. The "Hands On Bible" curriculum helps children come to know the Bible as their book. Bible stories and fun activities help children begin to feel a part of God's family. Children 5 years through 5th grade attend worship with a parent and leave the Sanctuary during the second hymn. Parents are asked to pick up their children at Rickard Chapel after the service. Teaching Opportunities Volunteers are needed to assist in classrooms. This sets an example that Sunday School is important and allows the volunteers to model the love of Christ.
