Blessings in a Backpack
September 19 after 10 a.m. worship in the Parlor
Blessings in a Backpack is a neighbor-helping-neighbor program meeting the needs of children and families in the community. Each week, volunteers distribute backpacks filled with enough non-perishable items for the weekend to “at risk” students to keep students from going hungry and remove barriers to academic success. In the past, 250 students from RCS received backpacks each week. The students also benefit from hygiene kits which we will be packing for these students. We need toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, small size hand sanitizer, small Kleenex packs, travel or small size deodorant and soap, as well as gallon Ziploc bags.
