Nancy coordinated St. Paul’s Adult Ministries for seven years and was chair of the Program Council for three years. She was a Lay Leader in 2015 and will continue in 2016. Nancy and Brenda Younker lead the Women’s Life Class which meets on Friday mornings.

Donna Heflin was raised in Pontiac MI. Larry Heflin was raised in Prairietown, IL. After graduating from high school he joined the Army. He became part of the Military Police Canine Unit, which led to his long and rewarding career at Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester.   Larry met Donna at Ted’s Drive Inn on Woodward and Square Lake while they were “cruising.” They have two children, Kimberly and David.

Kimberly and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Xavier and Walker. They live in Holly, MI. Their son, David, who is making an excellent recovery from a stroke, lives with Larry and Donna.

Donna and Larry joined St. Paul’s in 2012 and help with so many of St. Paul’s mission projects. They volunteer at Baldwin Soup Kitchen, and they serve at Baldwin and at Cass Community Social Services. They are ushers, greeters and Ambassadors. They are on the F.I.S.H. Committee and are hosts for a Grow Group. Donna will be involved in the Prayer Shawl and Quilt Ministry beginning in January.   They take pride in being last minute helpers who will step up when volunteers are needed for any project or event.

Nancy Boughner was raised in Spangler, Pennsylvania, truly a coal miner’s daughter. At 14, her family moved to Rochester where she attended Rochester High School & was in the marching band. After graduation, she attended Pontiac Business Institute.

Nancy met her husband, Allen, while working at the candy counter of the Hills Theater when she was in high school. They have four children, Marie, Les, Christina and Forrest. Marie is married to Steve Brudzinski. Les and his wife, Debbie, have three children, Amanda, Sarah, and Andrew. Christina is married to Jerome Williams and has one stepson, Christopher. Forrest and his partner, Amy Schultz, are raising her daughter, Chloe & their cat “Orio”, so named because she is black & white.

Nancy has many responsibilities at St. Paul’s. She takes care of choir folders and robes, mends the sheet music, catalogues the music index, and assists the staff by downloading sermons each week. Nancy loves the work that she does to help St. Paul’s Church. She enjoys growing flowers in the summer, and doing genealogy which she finds is addictive. She has participated in Grow Groups, and she likes helping with the Prayer Shawl ministry by making shawls.
